40 Watt Audio Amplifier Circuit

Last Updated on March 16, 2024

Simple 40 Watt Audio Amplifier Circuit designed by using IC TDA2040, It is a monolithic integrated circuit in the pentawatt package intended for use as an audio class AB amplifier. By applying 36V power supply and using 4Ω Loud speaker as load we can get 40 watt output audio.

This 40 watt audio amplifier circuit don’t need any inductor elements, this circuit uses minimized Resistor and capacitor elements.

Circuit Construction & Working

Main part of this circuit is IC TDA2040, it has wide range of input power supply voltage upto 40V, It can operate in both single and split power supply. TDA 2040 has thermal shutdown and short circuit protection features.

TDA2040 Pin details

TDA2040 Has only five pins in pentawatt package, it can be eaily connected to the heat sink, it has two input options as Inverting input and Non inverting input, one output terminal and two power supply terminals.

In this 40 watt amplifier schematic audio input is applied to the Non inverting input terminal of TDA2040 through C1 capacitor. Biasing components are connected at both input and output side of TDA2040. Output audio signal is applied to the 4Ω Loud speaker from pin 4 through C3 capacitor.
