Depends on the requirement we can choose fixed or variable voltage regulators available in TO-252 SMD package. Following SMD Voltage Regulators are reduces the time taken for PCB footprint implementation and it can easily placed in D-Pak or TO-252 Footprint (Refer Datasheet for metrics) .

AZ1084CD from Diodes Incorporated is a Adjustable linear positive voltage regulator with 5 amp current output. It can give variable voltage from 1.25V to 10.5V at 5A current output. This device takes 10mA as a Quiescent (Iq). It has over current and over temperature protection setup.
2. KD1084ADT25R
KD1084ADT25R from STMicroelectronics is a Fixed positive linear Voltage Regulator with 5 amp current output. It can take upto 12 volt as input and gives fixed 2.5 Volt as output with 5A current output. This device takes 10mA Quiescent current. It has Short circuit and over temperature protection setup.
3. AP1084D33L-13
AP1084D33L-13 from Diode Incorporated is a Fixed positive Linear voltage Regulator IC and gives output current upto 5A. It can take 4.7V to 12V as input power supply and gives fixed output voltage depends on the device specifications (1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V,
3.3V, 5.0V) with 5A current output. This device has built in thermal shutdown option.
4. FAN1585ADX
